The event runs from 9am to 4pm.

The event will be held in Exhibition Hall 2 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. This can be accessed via the entrance stairs on Merivale Street.

No, unfortunately you are not able to bring any animal with you on the day. You will be provided with plenty of information and advice on how to introduce your newly adopted animal to your pets at home.

Anyone can attend the RSPCA Pop Up Adoption event. Children, adults, families, friends and neighbours are all welcome. Anyone who is interested in adopting a new cat, kitten, dog or puppy into their home is more than welcome to attend this event. There will be a variety of animals available on the day.

Please refer to above adoption prices as we already have some special prices available on the day for both adult dogs and adult cats. The fees you pay on the day help care for all the animals in our shelters and helps us continue to do our vital work in the community.

All our animals who aren’t adopted on the day will go back to their relevant shelter and stay in adoption until they find their forever home. Our animals are assessed on a daily basis and continue to be cared for during this time.

Please refer to your local council animal restrictions for details.

Your newly adopted furry friend comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and vet checked. Basically all ready for you to take home and start cuddling on the couch. There is a 14 day sick return policy which will be further explained throughout the adoption process and you also have free access to 24/7 behavioural support over the phone.

It’s very important that you contact the RSPCA as soon as possible to discuss what is happening in your home and the next steps available to you. There is a 14 day sick return policy which will be further explained throughout the adoption process and you also have free access to 24/7 behavioural support over the phone.

We simply ask for a gold coin donation upon entry.

Yes! We will have a large range of animal merchandise, food, flea and tick treatments, collars, carriers and much more so that you can spoil and pamper your newly adopted pooch or feline friend!

The RSPCA Animal Care Centres across Queensland are at capacity and as such, we need to find homes for as many animals as possible so that we can still continue our vital work in the community. That is where the Pop Up Adoption comes in! We decided that in order to find the best homes for animals in our care, we would take them to a central city location and run a big adoption day in the hope that many animals find their very special forever home. Our normal adoption processes still apply however there will be special prices for some animals and there will also be animals from all across the state available on the day.

There is parking available under the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (which can be accessed via Merivale Street or Grey Street). Please refer to the BCEC website for price details.

Otherwise, we suggest parking in the surrounding streets. We do not suggest using public transport to get to the event if you plan on adopting on the day as you are unable to take animals back home on public transport. Please refer to the Event Details page for specific links to parking websites.

The event will go ahead rain, hail or shine!
