Saturday 12th January
9am – 3pm
Gold Coin Donation on Entry
What time should I arrive?
We will have transfers from all of our RSPCA regional shelters throughout the day, so you will certainly still find a pet perfect for you if you arrive later in the day! Although we aim to have over 60 dogs and puppies and 80 cats and kittens ready to go for when the event opens at 9am, we continue to fill the pens and crates as our beautiful animals are adopted during the day.
Please be patient with our staff and volunteers while we unload animals from vehicles and get them settled.
If you are adopting an adult dog, please be aware you will need to purchase a lead and harness to take them home in.
What is the adoption process?
Browse the hundreds of beautiful animals available for adoption
Speak with the animal minder about the animal and if it’s a perfect match, they will approve the adoption
Check your animal into the cloak room
Head to the payment desks to pay for your animal to finalise the adoption
Quickly visit World for Pets to purchase any items you’ll need for your new forever friend
Collect your animal from the cloak room and head home to assist them to settle into their new home!
Can I bring my pet with me?
In the best interests of our animals, no public pets are permitted at the event. Support will be provided to assist in introducing your new pet if you already have other animals at home.
Adoption prices on the day will be:
Adult Cats $150
1 x Kittens (under 4 months) $235
2 x Kittens (under 4 months) $400
Adult Dogs $320
Puppies (under 4 months) $499
We recommend that anyone intending on adopting on the day has private transport arranged as you will be unable to take your adopted animal home on public transport.
If you do require public transport to get to the event, the closest train station to the event is South Brisbane Station on Grey St and the Cultural Centre bus station is a short 5 minute walk to the Convention Centre. For more information on public transport please visit https://translink.com.au/.
