The RSPCA Queensland will host its 6th annual Pop Up Adoption event on Saturday 18th January from 9am to 2pm. Dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from all over the state will converge at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in hopes of finding their forever home.
Adoption prices on the day will be:
- Adult Cats $150*
- 1 x Kittens (under 4 months) $245
- 2 x Kittens (under 4 months) $400
- Adult Dogs $250*
- Puppies (under 4 months) $499
*Higher priced dogs/ cats will stay at the pre-set price
The event runs from 9am to 2pm.
We have animal transfers arriving throughout the day, some even coming all the way from Cairns so you certainly won’t miss out if you’re coming later in the day.
The event will be held in Exhibition Hall 2 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. This can be accessed via the entrance stairs on Merivale Street.
No, unfortunately you are not able to bring any animal with you on the day. You will be provided with plenty of information and advice on how to introduce your newly adopted animal to your pets at home.
Please refer to above adoption prices as we already have some special prices available on the day for both adult dogs and adult cats. The adoption fee covers not only the animal, but also their desexing, microchip, health check and makes sure they are up to date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatments so that they’re ready to go home with you on the day! The fees you pay on the day help care for all the animals in our shelters and helps us continue to do our vital work in the community.
All our animals who aren’t adopted on the day will go back to their relevant shelter and stay in adoption until they find their forever home. Our animals are assessed on a daily basis and continue to be cared for during this time.
Please refer to your local council animal restrictions for details.
Your newly adopted cat or dog comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and vet checked. Basically all ready for you to take home and start cuddling on the couch. There is a 14 day sick return policy which will be further explained throughout the adoption process and you also have free access to 24/7 behavioural support over the phone.
It’s very important that you contact the RSPCA as soon as possible to discuss what is happening in your home and the next steps available to you. There is a 14 day sick return policy which will be further explained throughout the adoption process and you also have free access to 24/7 behavioural support over the phone.
We simply ask for a gold coin donation upon entry.
Yes! We will have a large range of animal merchandise, food, flea and tick treatments, collars, carriers and much more so that you can spoil and pamper your newly adopted pooch or feline friend!
RSPCA Qld has Animal Care Centres across our great state, so Pop Up Adoption allows animals that are usually cared for across regional centres to come to a major event and be seen by thousands of potential adopters in one day – maximising their chances of finding a new home!
Our normal adoption processes still apply. However, there will be special prices for some animals and there will be animals from all across the state available on the day.
There is parking available under the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (which can be accessed via Merivale Street or Grey Street). Please refer to the BCEC website for price details.
Secure SW1 parking has offered $12 parking to intending adopters (prebooked parking only). Use code ADOPT20 and prebook here.
Otherwise, we suggest parking in the surrounding streets. We do not suggest using public transport to get to the event if you plan on adopting on the day as you are unable to take animals back home on public transport. Please refer to the Event Details page for specific links to parking websites.
The event will go ahead rain, hail or shine!
